You have experience in international trading and you are interested in new products and markets. Trading of road salt is an independent part of the group and within this area you will be business responsible, which requires a good understanding of the road salt market as a whole but also information on a local level.
A major challenge in this job is that demand for road salt is almost entirely depending on the weather. Salt is a global product and in our case the customers are daughter companies, agents and traders, mainly in Europe. The company is always looking for new business opportunities also concerning trading of other bulk commodities.
Key elements of the job are intelligence work, freight flows and exchange rates. Your relationship with players along the logistics chain and your understanding of the end-user market will be crucial to how well you succeed. As a trader you are responsible for tying up the whole picture and to create strategically profitable business for the company.
You can see new possibilities and find solutions and security without following what others are doing. Endurance and competitive instinct in combination with strategic thinking and autonomy is characteristics of you. You determine business profitability by rapid estimates based on available information and your intuition. We know that international relationship-building requires a credible action and a developed ability to communicate and understand cultural codes. Most likely, you already have solid experience in trading and shipping and of being on the international playing field. Travelling is a privilege that gives you great satisfaction.
