Dust binding / Calcium chloride

Calcium chloride, hygroscopic salt in flake form, is used for both road salt and dust binding.
– road salt that provides a quick effect and is effective at low temperatures.
– used to bind dust on gravel surfaces such as roads and parking lots. The salt absorbs moisture from the air and forms a saline solution that penetrates into the wearing course. Calcium chloride is advantageous in dry, hot climates, especially when spreading the solution.
